Team Summer is still in the lead, but there is still time for this to turn around! And Team Meadows is catching up, guys!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Important note:

Guys, please try and submit for your teams!!! Only 3 people from each team submitted (although team summer is ‘let of the hook’ because they’re missing members hehe) Please make an effort to submit even if you don’t like the prompts! I understand it if you’re sick or some other valid reason, but it will mean sooooooooo much to your team members if you submit. You guys have been doing great so far trying to submit for your teams, but your teams need you to be consistent.

I have 2 people who haven’t submitted for this contest at all. Please let me know if you would still like to continue! Thanks. πŸ™‚

I decided there won’t be any more challenge winners. All of your stories are great and I don’t want to pick!

Challenge 4 Prompts:

 1. “And they rode away in the sunset.”

“What’s a sunset?”

“I don’t know. But my Grandad saw one once.”

2.

via

3. β€œSorry. You’re the first person I’ve spoken to in ten years.”

Getting points

 • Write your story based of these prompts. You can use one or two, all of them, but you must use at least one.
 • You can take photos or draw pictures to illustrate your story. You will get 2 points per photo and illustration.
 • Creativity. This is how creatively you use the prompts.
 • If you use the name of your team in your story, you can earn 1 point for your team. (e.g forest; the forest was dark and gloomy)
 • You’ll get 1 point for each prompt you use, and 1 point for submitting your story/poem.

Example: Submitting a story and using all three prompts is 4 points, taking/drawing 3 photos and using your team name in your story is 7, so 4+ 7 = 11 points altogether.

Deadline: midnight, 28th of January 2018

Leave a link down below to your entry and it would be helpful if you put the number of points If I missed your entry for this round and you submitted it within the deadline (20th at midnight), let me know and I’ll tally up your points.

Good luck and have fun!

Also, you may show your blog button on your blog sidebar if you’d like!

P.S Also, I think I’m getting the ‘points from last round’ part wrong, but I know I’m getting the total points right….. this is sooooooo confusing. πŸ˜›

Unfortunately some one else had to drop out from this team, so there is, once again, an open spot on this team. If you know anyone who is interested in filling up this spot, please let them know. But until then, since Team Summer is two members short, I will be giving them 5 bonus points each round to make up for it.

Abby Franklin of Team Summer

Your story/letter was lovely and so heartfelt. Keep up the great work!

Once again, this was a REALLY hard decision because all of your entries were so great, so please don’t be hurt if your entry wasn’t picked! ❀

Challenge 3 Prompts:

1.

Not my photo. (Although it would’ve been awesome to take this photo) Thanks to whoever this belongs to!

2.

Emily. 10. The hot pink of her outfit stood out from her pale skin.

Peter. 14. His brown hair lopped over his forehead and his shirt matched the deep blue in his eyes.

(by yours truly)

3.

“What are you doing here?”

“This is my house.”

“Not anymore.”

(also by moi)

A quick reminder that you even though you use your team name many times in your story, you’ll only get pointed (is that a word?) for one, and that the pictures/drawings included in your post (if you want to get points for them) they must be your own. πŸ™‚

Getting extra points

 • You can take photos or draw pictures to illustrate your story. You will get 2 points per photo and illustration.
 • Creativity. This is how creatively you use the prompts. At the end of each round I’ll select my favorite story and that person will earn more points for their team.
 • If you use the name of your team in your story, you can earn a point for your team. (e.g forest; the forest was dark and gloomy)
 • You’ll get a point for each prompt you use, and a point for submitting your story/poem.

Deadline: 20th of January 2018

Leave a link down below and the number of points so won’t miss your entry. πŸ™‚ If I missed your entry for this round and you submitted it within the deadline (12th at midnight), let me know and I’ll tally up your points.

Good luck and have fun!

Sample Story (just pretend I’m on Team Forest)

Story: 1

Prompts: 3

Pictures/Artwork: none

I used my team name: 1

Total points: 5

Emily. 10. The hot pink of her outfit stood out from her pale skin.

Peter. 14. His brown hair lopped over his forehead and his shirt matched the deep blue in his eyes.

I remembered them so well. Emily’s cheerful smiles and playful ponytails. Peter’s awkward grin and thoughtful eyes. I could have been with them forever if only I had held on.

I was a friendly bear in the house, and when the two children, alone, came to my cottage seeking refuge, I invited them in and they stayed for a while. In fact, they stayed from when little Emily was dragging around her new found love of a teddy bear till she was still sleeping cuddled up next it’s patched up, furry, dirty self. That was almost four years they stayed with me.

I loved them with all my heart, and it seemed that they were now my own. Until I let them go. They were happy with me. An orphanage deemed that a bear was not fit for two children to live with, and they ripped them from me, hitting them with the news like someone’s face slapping the surface of water from a fall in the clouds.

Peter was coming home from some errands and was stopped by some people. I still remember what they said:

“What are you doing here?”

“This is my house.”

“Not anymore.”

I just stood by and told my mind that I couldn’t do anything to stop these people from taking the children that had grown to be the only joys in my life.

Emily still sometimes comes to visit me in the forest, and sometimes she comes dressed up as a Princess. When she does this, I take her hand and kiss it gently. I bow and she curtsies.

Just picture Em to be a lot smaller πŸ˜›

Then she laughs, throws her arms around me and gives me a long hug. I cradle her in my arms for a little bit, then we talk. We talk about anything, really. About the thoughts she’s had. About the things she has done. About the little paper doll she made yesterday.

But it’s not the same. If only I hadn’t given up.

Sorry that was such a bad sample! πŸ˜› XD

For her entry, Etiquette. Your piece was creative, and I REALLY enjoyed reading it! You’ve earned 10 bonus points for Team Forest! Great job!

Challenge Two Prompts:

 1. The nearest star is 4.37 light years away from Earth. Which is why most wishes take at least 9 years to come true.

2.

3. “Oh my, this would look so cute on you!”

“Be quiet! I’m trying to crack this safe.”

Right now, Team Forest is in the lead. C’mon Team Summer and Team Meadows! You need to up your game!!! I know you can do it!

I am going to be away for a few days starting tomorrow (Monday) and won’t be available till the 13th, so there may not be a winner for this second challenge if I don’t get the chance to read all your wonderful stories. :/

I feel like 6 days to write your story was too much time, so you have until the 12th at midnight to submit your story.

Since I will be away, please put the link in the comments, along with the number of prompts, if you used your team name, and the total number of points for everything. That way, if I don’t get the chance to read all your stories, I can look at the comments and add all the points up easily. And if you do this it, your entry won’t be missed. πŸ™‚ Thanks so much! πŸ˜€

If I missed your name, please let me know so I can fix it.

Good luck to all the teams and have fun! πŸ˜€

I know not all of you got on your first choice team, but I did my best, and I hope you have fun! πŸ™‚

Let me refresh your memory of the rules and guidelines. πŸ™‚

Getting extra points

 • You can take photos or draw pictures to illustrate your story. You will get 2 points per photo and illustration.
 • Creativity. This is how creatively you use the prompts. At the end of each round I’ll select my favorite story and that person will earn more points for their team.
 • If you use the name of you team in your story, you can earn a point for your team. (e.g forest; the forest was dark and gloomy)
 • You’ll get a point for each prompt you use, and a point for submitting your story/poem.

Challenge One Prompts

Have fun, guys! You have until the 6th of January, 2018 (oh it feels good saying that) to submit your entry. πŸ™‚ Looking forward to reading what you come up with!

Also, please please please leave the link to your entry in the comment section, and at the start of your entry, it would be very helpful if you could say how many prompts you used and how many pictures you submitted along with your story. πŸ™‚

Again, have fun, and again, happy new year!!

**UPDATE**

All entries must be clean. That means no gore. No super dark stories. No swearing. No taking God’s name in vain. No inappropriate things. I know you probably won’t do this (because you guys are awesome), but just in case. I’m going to be reading all these stories, and I want my reads to be pleasant. πŸ˜‰

*this is by no means a professional competition, so I make a few mistakes. πŸ˜‰ Please bear with me. Hehe.Β

~ Zielle

AAWC {How It Will Work} because I didn’t explain very well

**UPDATE: The deadline for signups is December 20, so you have plenty of time.**

So as you know I hit 100 followers about a month ago. *cue the screaming* And for celebration, I started a…

Writing challenge! YAYAYAYAYAY!

As you could probably see by all the comments, a lot of people have been requesting to be on Team Meadows. So this is going to be a first come first serve basis, so please don’t be too disappointed if you don’t get your first choice for a team. I will do my best. πŸ™‚

Also, please SPREAD THE WORD about this! I’d like to get as many contestants as I can. If you could, that would be awesome!

How long will the challenge last?

It will last for six weeks (six challenges, six submissions), so the month of January and two of February. Each round of the challenge will last around 4 days to a week, so that’s about how long you’ll have to write your story.

How do I get points for my team?

 • You can take photos or draw pictures to illustrate your story. You will get 2 points per photo.
 • Creativity. This is how creatively you use the prompts. At the end of each round I’ll select my favorite story and that person will earn more points for their team.
 • If you use the name of you team in your story, you can earn a point for your team. (e.g forest; the forest was dark and gloomy)

Anything else?

Each round, I will give new writing challenges.

Thanks for reading!

~ Zielle
