The Ardent Reader’s Book Frenzy Tag

The featured image wasn’t workin’ for me guys. What’s with it? It looks so messy! *runs around the room and screams about how un-perfect it is * Because I’m a perfectionist as you can tell. In some areas.

Honestly, I haven’t read that many books in my lifetime. I’ve just re-read the same amazing books over and over again. That’s one of the reasons I run The Ardent Reader; so I can find new books. But, unfortunately, a lot of the books I read are on Kindle, so I don’t have them in my bookshelf which is pitifully sad.

I wanted to do something other than book reviews, although book reviews are awesome, so I’m creating this lame tag with the long title.

The ARDENT Book Frenzy-1

Le questions|

1 – Favorite book you have read?

Well I have a lot of favorites, but I’ve loved the book Jotham’s Journey for a long time now. It’s an adventure book settled in Bible times just before Jesus was born, about a boy name Jotham. When his family thinks he is killed by a jackal, they move on without him and he sets out to find them.

2 – What is your favorite genre to read?

I like fantasy, like fairytale fantasy, but currently I’m reading Dreamlander by K.M Weiland which is a bit of a darker fantasy. And I love adventure as well. I also like every day life, like diaries and such. Occasionally I like a little mystery.

3 – What is your all time record for re-reading a book (how many times)? Which book is it?

I’m not sure. I remember this classic book called Little Meg’s children (thoroughly depressing, trust me. I cried every single time), and I used to read it all the time. I don’t know how many times, so I’m just gonna go with ten. πŸ˜‰

4 – When you’re feeling sad, what book makes you happy reading it?

Hmmm… any book really, unless I don’t feel like reading it. πŸ˜› A Year in The Life of a Total And Complete Genius is a good laugh.

5 – Do you pay attention to aesthetic covers? πŸ˜‰Β

Sometimes, not since a little while ago, because the books we have in our house are all old books with covers that just have the title the author and a color and some fancy swirls.

6 – What fiction world would you go to in a book?

Ooh! I’d go to Narnia when there is no war. Because Narnia is awesome! Pitifully, I haven’t read the books. I’ve only watched the movies. how could I

7 – What do you look for in books (good dialogue, descriptive etc.)?

I like good dialogue and adventure, and I like reality in books. Like reality of the characters’ speech and such. I also like showing and not telling because as you can probably tell I’m a perfectionist in those areas; I will probably chop of a star in a review if things like those are a let down. XD

8 – If you were to be a book character, who would you be?

I think I’d like to be Elly in the book, Beyond The Horizon, because I want to marry Aron. πŸ˜‰ Or I’d be Susan or Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia.

9 – Top 5 – 10 favorite books?

This cover is so gorgeous

sorry for the bad quality

The Big Nate novels. This was the first Big Nate book I ever read and it is awesome!!

Hehe yes, I still like these books
And yes, these too. πŸ˜›

10 – Worst book you have ever read?

I don’t know. I don’t really read books I think I won’t like. πŸ˜› But I didn’t like Alone In London (classic) because the main character died. I was devastated.

11- Funniest book you’ve ever read?

Just Stupid (and his other books like these) by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton (illustrator) and A Year in The Life of a Total And Complete Genius. They are hilarious. πŸ˜€

12 – Sweetest book/s?

Beyond The Horizon by Jesseca Wheaton, maybe A Question of Honor by Jesseca Wheaton, Megsy’s Influence (classic), and maybe Befriending The Beast by Amanda Tero {Review}.

13 – What’s a book you thought you’d hate but ended up loving it?

Umm…wow. Nothing.

14 – Say you didn’t like the genre of mystery. What is a book you’ve read with a genre you didn’t like, but when you read it, it made you love that genre?

Well I wasn’t to keen for mystery, but I read Enid Blyton’s mystery books; The Secret Seven (which I didn’t like much), The Famous Five (the best in my opinion) and her others.

15 – What is a book you’re currently reading, and what do you think of it so far?

I’m reading Dreamlander, as you can see in my sidebar. It’s been amazing so far. I actually started reading it ages ago, but I stopped (I don’t why. This book is awesome!). It’s a darker fantasy then I’m used to, but it’s filled with adventure. The main character is Chris Redston. It’s sort of creepy though. πŸ˜›
